St. Ignatius (Cleveland, Ohio) on Saturday, totaling 12 points as the Wildcats defeated John Adams (Cleveland, Ohio) 49-0.
The Wildcats were up 35-0 at the half after taking the lead on a defensive touchdown in the first quarter.
St. Ignatius expanded its lead to 49 points entering the fourth quarter. SI scored two times in the third, including once on a defensive touchdown.
The Wildcats put up 28 points in the first quarter en route to the win. St. Ignatius scored on a defensive touchdown, a rushing touchdown, a passing touchdown and a touchdown run in the quarter.
SI went into the matchup giving up only 9.7 points per game. The zero points that the Rebels ended with were well below their average of 18.8 coming into the game. John Adams came in surrendering 17.7 points per game this season.
A 49-19 St. Ignatius victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after John Adams defeated John Marshall 20-6 last week. The loss snapped JA's 3-game winning streak.
In a non-conference game next week St. Ignatius (7-0) takes on St. Francis, and John Adams (3-4) will go up against Collinwood in a Senate game.
