The Mavericks, who played No. 6 Rockledge in the Class 6A state playoffs on Tuesday, edge out Teurlings Catholic, the No. 1 Class 4A team in Louisiana, and Bolles, the No. 1 Class 5A team in Florida.
Other top 5 teams include Redondo Union, the top Division 3 team in the Southern Section of California, and Russellville, the top Class 5A school in Alabama.
The medium schools national rankings are based on the
MaxPreps National Computer Rankings presented by the Army National Guard. Medium-sized schools are those that play in state enrollment divisions that generally have between 1,000 and 2,000 students.
