The Cougar boys were the first team from Colorado to win a national title, just as junior Addison Ritzenhein was the first from the area to win an individual crown a year earlier.

Her entire high school career at Silver Creek had culminated in that glittering, silver-worthy moment. It earned her the Times-Call runner of the year.
