Texas High School Basketball - Canutillo topples Parkland

January 2, 2024: El Paso, TX 79924

In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Canutillo Eagles (Canutillo, TX) basketball squad beat the host Parkland Matadors (El Paso, TX), by a margin of 44-25.

The Eagles (13-6) will now prepare for their outing against Burges (El Paso, TX). The Mustangs go into the 5A Region I District 1 outing with a 16-6 record. In their last outing, Burges defeated Mayfield (Las Cruces, NM), 48-41, in a non-league outing.

The Matadors now own a 2-13 record. They play next when they travel to Ysleta for a 5A Region I District 2 outing on Friday, January 5. Parkland will clash with a Indians squad coming off a 45-13 non-league loss to Hanks (El Paso, TX). The Indians record now stands at 7-14.
