The Martin County Gators basketball squad (Williamston, NC), was nudged 77-72 in Thursday's non-league battle with the visiting Pamlico County Hurricanes (Bayboro, NC)

With the victory, Pamlico County advances its record to 10-2 on the year. The Hurricanes travel to Havelock (Havelock, NC) to meet the Rams in a non-league battle on Wednesday, January 8. The Rams enter the battle with a record of 2-6.

The Gators now own a 6-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Tarboro for a 1A Four Rivers battle on Friday, January 3. Martin County will meet a Vikings squad coming off a 36-30 non-league loss to Rocky Mount Prep (Rocky Mount, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 0-2.
