In Friday's league contest, the host Catawba Ridge Copperheads basketball team scored a good 45-31 triumph over the Northwestern Trojans.

The Copperheads (6-8) will now prepare for their battle against Lexington (Lexington, SC). The Wildcats enter the non-league battle with a 4-7 record. In their last battle, Lexington knocked off Lower Richland (Hopkins, SC), 59-55, in a non-league battle.

The Trojans now own a 3-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Clover for a AAAAA Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, January 7. Northwestern will encounter a Blue Eagles team coming off a 51-46 league loss to Fort Mill (Fort Mill, SC). The Blue Eagles record now stands at 10-5.
