In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Onteora Eagles basketball team scored a close 53-47 win over the Valley Central Vikings.

The Eagles (4-0) will now prepare for their contest against Highland (Highland, NY). The Huskies come into the Section 9 MHAL III contest with a 1-4 record.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the Middletown Middie Bears (Middletown, NY) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 7. Valley Central will attempt to better on its 5-4 season record.
