South Aiken Thoroughbreds (Aiken, SC) boosters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC), 71-62 in a league match.

With the victory, South Aiken upgrades its record to 5-8 on the year. The Thoroughbreds travel to North Augusta (North Augusta, SC) to face the Yellow Jackets in a AAAA Region 4 match on Thursday, January 9. The Yellow Jackets enter the match with a record of 12-0. North Augusta won 58-48 in their recent league match against Aiken (Aiken, SC)

The Indians now sport a 1-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Midland Valley for a AAAA Region 4 match on Friday, January 10. Gilbert will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 57-51 league win over Airport (West Columbia, SC). The Mustangs record now stands at 11-4.
