The South Point Red Raiders basketball squad (Belmont, NC), was nudged 51-49 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the visiting Catawba Ridge Copperheads (Fort Mill, SC)

With the victory, Catawba Ridge advances its record to 8-8 on the year. The Copperheads travel to Indian Land (Fort Mill, SC) to meet the Warriors in a AAAAA Region 3 battle on Thursday, January 9. The Warriors enter the battle with a record of 14-1. Indian Land won 73-55 in their recent league battle against Nation Ford (Fort Mill, SC)

The Red Raiders now own a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Stuart W. Cramer for a 3A Big South battle on Thursday, January 9. South Point will meet a Storm squad coming off a 71-58 league win over North Gaston (Dallas, NC). The Storm record now stands at 6-7.
