Alabama High School Basketball - Pickens County fells West Lowndes
January 9, 2024: Reform, AL 35481 Pickens County Tornadoes (Reform, AL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Lowndes Panthers (Columbus, MS), 58-41 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Pickens County upgrades its record to 3-4 on the season. The Tornadoes host Holy Spirit Catholic (Tuscaloosa, AL) to clash with the Saints in a 1A Area 9 bout on Friday, January 12. The Saints go into the bout with a record of 9-6. Holy Spirit Catholic lost 71-60 in their recent league bout against South Lamar (Millport, AL)
Next up, the Panthers clash with the Houlka Wildcats (Houlka, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 12. West Lowndes will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Wildcats go into the bout with a 9-11 record after their 65-52 league win over Vardaman (Vardaman, MS).
