The Union Spartans basketball team (Rose Hill, NC), was routed 72-29 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC)

The Leopards now sport a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Duplin for a 1A Conference 10 battle on Friday, January 13. Lakewood will battle a Rebels team coming off a 59-54 non-league loss to Bear Grass Charter (Williamston, NC). The Rebels record now stands at 5-7.

The Spartans (0-12) will now prepare for their battle against Rosewood (Goldsboro, NC). The Eagles come into the 1A Conference 10 battle with a 6-6 record. In their last battle, Rosewood was routed by C.B. Aycock (Pikeville, NC), 66-43, in a non-league battle.
