South Carolina High School Basketball - Lower Richland overwhelms Gilbert
January 12, 2023: Gilbert, SC 29054 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets (Hopkins, SC) and the host Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC), saw Lower Richland's basketball squad wallop Gilbert by a tally of 59-38.
With the victory, Lower Richland improves its record to 3-7 on the campaign. The Diamond Hornets travel to Swansea (Swansea, SC) to play the Tigers in a AAA Region 5 challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers come into the challenge with a record of 1-13. Swansea lost 79-11 in their recent league challenge against Orangeburg-Wilkinson (Orangeburg, SC)
Next up, the Indians play the Brookland-Cayce Bearcats (Cayce, SC) in a AAA Region 5 challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Gilbert will attempt to improve on its 3-15 season record. The Bearcats come into the challenge with a 5-10 record after their 57-43 league loss to Dreher (Columbia, SC).
