The Lakewood Gators basketball squad (Sumter, SC), was nudged 17-14 in Monday's non-league battle with the visiting Lower Richland Diamond Hornets (Hopkins, SC)

With the victory, Lower Richland advances its record to 4-1 on the year. The Diamond Hornets host South Florence (Florence, SC) to meet the Bruins in a non-league battle on Thursday, January 16. The Bruins enter the battle with a record of 1-0.

The Gators now own a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hartsville for a battle on Thursday, January 16. Lakewood will meet a Red Foxes squad coming off a 26-18 league loss to Darlington (Darlington, SC). The Red Foxes record now stands at 2-8.
