Georgia High School Basketball - Riverwood topped by Mount Vernon

The Mount Vernon Mustangs basketball team scored 69 points and restricted the host Riverwood Raiders to 54 in the Mustangs non-league victory on Saturday.

The Mustangs now sport a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Washington for a non-league contest on Monday, January 16. Mount Vernon will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 56-55 league win over Walker (Marietta, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-6.

The Raiders (10-7) will now prepare for their contest against Woodward Academy (College Park, GA). The War Eagles come into the non-league contest with a 13-3 record. In their last contest, Woodward Academy was defeated by Jonesboro (Jonesboro, GA), 72-62, in a league contest.
