Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Timberland Wolves (St. Stephen, SC), 47-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gilbert upgrades its record to 11-6 on the season. The Indians host Brookland-Cayce (Cayce, SC) to play the Bearcats in a AAA Region 5 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Bearcats go into the bout with a record of 1-12. Brookland-Cayce lost 43-12 in their recent league bout against Dreher (Columbia, SC)

Next up, the Wolves play the Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks (Mt. Pleasant, SC) in a AA Region 7 bout, on Friday, January 20. Timberland will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record.
