In Tuesday's league contest, the host Midland Valley Mustangs basketball team scored a close 62-57 triumph over the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets.

The Mustangs (13-4) will now prepare for their contest against South Aiken (Aiken, SC). The Thoroughbreds go into the AAAA Region 4 contest with a 5-11 record. In their last contest, South Aiken was tipped by Strom Thurmond (Johnston, SC), 51-43, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Fighting Green Hornets battle the Gray Collegiate Academy War Eagles (West Columbia, SC) in a AAAA Region 4 contest, on Friday, January 17. Aiken will attempt to better on its 7-9 season record. The War Eagles go into the contest with a 7-7 record after their 82-42 league win over South Aiken (Aiken, SC).
