The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) and the host East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC), observed Shelby's basketball team overwhelm East Gaston by a margin of 58-14.

The Golden Lions (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Crest (Shelby, NC). The Chargers come into the non-league challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, Crest was trounced by Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC), 53-52, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Warriors battle the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont challenge, on Wednesday, January 15. East Gaston will attempt to better on its 2-14 season record. The Gryphons come into the challenge with a 7-3 record after their 54-35 league win over Burns (Lawndale, NC).
