Oregon High School Basketball - Newport knocks off Gladstone
January 17, 2025: Gladstone, OR 97027 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Newport Cubs (Newport, OR) and the host Gladstone Gladiators (Gladstone, OR), observed Newport's basketball team overcome Gladstone by a score of 51-38.
The Cubs (9-4) will now prepare for their challenge against North Marion (Aurora, OR). The Huskies come into the 4A Oregon West challenge with a 11-3 record. In their last challenge, North Marion defeated Molalla (Molalla, OR), 68-61, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Gladiators battle the Madras White Buffaloes (Madras, OR) in a 4A Tri-Valley challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Gladstone will attempt to improve on its 4-9 season record. The White Buffaloes come into the challenge with a 11-3 record after their 44-40 non-league win over Stayton (Stayton, OR).
