The Whittell Warriors basketball squad (Zephyr Cove, NV), was crushed 63-41 in Friday's league battle with the host Sage Ridge Scorpions (Reno, NV)

With the victory, Sage Ridge advances its record to 5-5 on the year. The Scorpions travel to Mineral County (Hawthorne, NV) to meet the Serpents in a 1A West battle on Saturday, January 18. The Serpents enter the battle with a record of 7-9. Mineral County won 63-50 in their recent league battle against Excel Christian (Sparks, NV)

The Warriors now own a 3-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pyramid Lake for a 1A West battle on Tuesday, January 21. Whittell will confront a Lakers team coming off a 73-39 league win over Coleville (Coleville, CA). The Lakers record now stands at 12-7.
