The Ron Brown Monarchs basketball team (Washington, DC), was nudged 51-49 in Wednesday's league battle with the visiting School Without Walls Penguins (Washington, DC)

The Penguins now possess a 7-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Roosevelt for a DCSAA AA battle on Friday, January 20. School Without Walls will confront a Roughriders team coming off a 78-77 league win over Bard (Washington, DC). The Roughriders record now stands at 18-2.

The Monarchs (2-13) will now prepare for their contest against Model Secondary School for the Deaf (Washington, DC). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 7-8 record. In their last contest, Model Secondary School for the Deaf nudged Capital City Public Charter School (Washington, DC), 73-64, in a non-league contest.
