Fans at Friday's league challenge between the De Kalb Bears (De Kalb, TX) and the visiting New Boston Lions (New Boston, TX), saw De Kalb's basketball squad hold off New Boston by a tally of 45-40.

With the victory, De Kalb improves its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Pewitt (Omaha, TX) to confront the Brahmas in a 3A Region II District 14 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Brahmas come into the challenge with a record of 9-16. Pewitt lost 73-43 in their recent league challenge against Hooks (Hooks, TX)
