Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Abington Heights winner over Shamokin Area
January 21, 2023: Coal Township, PA 17866 The Abington Heights Comets (Clarks Summit, PA) basketball felled the host Shamokin Area Indians (Coal Township, PA), 61-41 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Comets (14-1) will now prepare for their test against Honesdale (Honesdale, PA). The Hornets go into the Lackawanna 2 test with a 3-10 record. In their last test, Honesdale was beaten by Valley View (Archbald, PA), 64-40, in a non-league test.
The Indians now own a 11-4 record. They play next when they host Shikellamy for a Heartland I test on Tuesday, January 24. Shamokin Area will encounter a Braves squad coming off a 74-66 league loss to Central Mountain (Mill Hall, PA). The Braves record now stands at 5-10.
