Virginia High School Basketball - Nelson County can't hold off Chatham
January 23, 2024: Chatham, VA 24531 The Chatham Cavaliers basketball team scored 62 points and restricted the visiting Nelson County Governors to 59 in the Cavaliers league victory on Tuesday.
The Cavaliers now sport a 6-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bassett for a non-league contest on Monday, January 29. Chatham will battle a Bengals team coming off a 57-45 league loss to Martinsville (Martinsville, VA). The Bengals record now stands at 4-13.
The Governors (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against William Campbell (Naruna, VA). The Generals come into the Dogwood contest with a 5-6 record. In their last contest, William Campbell edged Brookville (Lynchburg, VA), 51-50, in a non-league contest.
