The Del Valle Conquistadores basketball team scored 73 points and held the visiting Horizon Scorpions to 65 in the Conquistadores league triumph on Tuesday.

The Conquistadores now sport a 16-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Parkland for a 5A Region I District 2 contest on Friday, January 26. Del Valle will battle a Matadors team coming off a 51-44 league loss to Ysleta (El Paso, TX). The Matadors record now stands at 9-16.

The Scorpions (7-16) will now prepare for their contest against Hanks (El Paso, TX). The Knights enter the 5A Region I District 2 contest with a 13-13 record. In their last contest, Hanks ran past Bel Air (El Paso, TX), 43-36, in a league contest.
