The Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC) basketball toppled the host Copper Basin Cougars (Copperhill, TN), 57-49 in Thursday's non-league bout.

The Eagles now possess a 7-9 record. They play next when they travel to Nantahala for a 1A Smoky Mountain bout on Tuesday, January 28. Hiwassee Dam will play a Hawks team coming off a 76-44 league win over Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC). The Hawks record now stands at 8-9.
