In Friday's league contest, the host Darlington Falcons basketball team scored a close 31-30 triumph over the Lower Richland Diamond Hornets.

The Falcons (12-7) will now prepare for their contest against Lakewood (Sumter, SC). The Gators go into the AAAA Region 5 contest with a 11-8 record. In their last contest, Lakewood nipped Calhoun County (St. Matthews, SC), 62-37, in a non-league contest.
