In Friday's league test, the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC), by a score of 69-58.

Next, the Warhorses encounter the Mountain Heritage Cougars (Burnsville, NC) in a 1A/2A Western Highlands test, on Tuesday, January 28. Owen will attempt to improve on its 12-3 season record. The Cougars come into the test with a 13-2 record after their 75-27 league win over Rosman (Rosman, NC).

The Mountaineers (6-7) will now prepare for their test against Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Wildcats come into the 1A/2A Western Highlands test with a 5-12 record. In their last test, Draughn was knocked off by Mitchell (Bakersville, NC), 74-54, in a league test.
