January 25, 2023: Newport Beach, CA 92663 Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Fountain Valley Barons (Fountain Valley, CA) and the host Newport Harbor Sailors (Newport Beach, CA), saw Fountain Valley's basketball squad overcome Newport Harbor by a tally of 49-37.
With the victory, Fountain Valley improves its record to 17-8 on the campaign. The Barons travel to Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos, CA) to confront the Griffins in a Surf challenge on Friday, January 27. The Griffins come into the challenge with a record of 18-6. Los Alamitos won 79-60 in their recent non-league challenge against Corona del Mar (Newport Beach, CA)
Next up, the Sailors confront the Huntington Beach Oilers (Huntington Beach, CA) in a Wave challenge, on Friday, January 27. Newport Harbor will attempt to improve on its 17-8 season record. The Oilers come into the challenge with a 11-13 record after their 51-45 non-league loss to Edison (Huntington Beach, CA).
