Father McGivney Catholic Griffins (Glen Carbon, IL) supporters left the game satisfied Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Metro-East Lutheran Knights (Edwardsville, IL), 61-12 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Father McGivney Catholic advances its record to 14-9 on the year. The Griffins travel to Sandoval (Sandoval, IL) to face the Blackhawks in a non-league match on Monday, February 3. The Blackhawks enter the match with a record of 14-9.

The Knights now own a 2-21 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Beardstown for a non-league match on Monday, January 27. Metro-East Lutheran will face a Tigers squad coming off a 60-31 non-league loss to Calhoun/Brussels (Hardin, IL). The Tigers record now stands at 10-14.
