The Laney Buccaneers basketball team scored 57 points and held the host Hoggard Vikings to 55 in the Buccaneers league triumph on Friday.

The Buccaneers now sport a 15-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Brunswick for a 3A/4A Mideastern contest on Tuesday, January 30. Laney will meet a Trojans team coming off a 52-41 league win over Topsail (Hampstead, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 7-11.

The Vikings (11-7) will now prepare for their contest against North Brunswick (Leland, NC). The Scorpions enter the 3A/4A Mideastern contest with a 14-4 record. In their last contest, North Brunswick nudged South Brunswick (Southport, NC), 82-57, in a league contest.
