In Friday's league outing, the Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) basketball squad edged the host La Plata Warriors (La Plata, MD), by a margin of 44-40.

The Patriots (8-4) will now prepare for their outing against Westlake (Waldorf, MD). The Wolverines go into the Southern Maryland outing with a 5-9 record. In their last outing, Westlake was tipped by Chopticon (Morganza, MD), 58-54, in a league outing.

The Warriors now own a 5-11 record. They play next when they travel to McDonough for a Southern Maryland outing on Wednesday, January 31. La Plata will clash with a Rams squad coming off a 68-53 league win over Huntingtown (Huntingtown, MD). The Rams record now stands at 14-2.
