Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX), 68-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Weslaco East upgrades its record to 22-7 on the season. The Wildcats host Pace (Brownsville, TX) to play the Vikings in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 7-11.

Next up, the Tigers play the Veterans Memorial Chargers (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Mercedes will attempt to upgrade on its 6-15 season record.
