In Friday's league outing, the Edisto Cougars (Cordova, SC) basketball squad beat the host Barnwell Warhorses (Barnwell, SC), by a count of 54-46.

The Cougars (7-9) will now prepare for their outing against Hampton County (Varnville, SC). The Hurricanes go into the AA Region 6 outing with a 12-9 record. In their last outing, Hampton County was topped by Woodland (Dorchester, SC), 39-33, in a league outing.

The Warhorses now hold a 1-13 record. They play next when they travel to Blackville-Hilda for a non-league outing on Saturday, January 27. Barnwell will clash with a Fighting Hawks squad coming off a 44-19 league win over Wagener-Salley (Wagener, SC). The Fighting Hawks record now stands at 9-9.
