North Carolina High School Basketball - Independence nudges Charlotte Catholic

January 28, 2025: Charlotte, NC 28227

The crowd at Tuesday's league challenge between the Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) and the visiting Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC), observed Independence's basketball team edge Charlotte Catholic by a score of 72-65.

The Patriots (15-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Garinger (Charlotte, NC). The Wildcats come into the 4A Southwestern challenge with a 2-15 record. In their last challenge, Garinger was tipped by East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC), 78-33, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Rocky River Ravens (Mint Hill, NC) in a 4A Southwestern challenge, on Friday, January 31. Charlotte Catholic will attempt to improve on its 15-5 season record. The Ravens come into the challenge with a 8-10 record after their 58-56 non-league win over Grimsley (Greensboro, NC).
