In Tuesday's league test, the Lovejoy Leopards (Lucas, TX) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Melissa Cardinals (Melissa, TX), by a score of 45-35.

Next, the Leopards encounter the Greenville Lions (Greenville, TX) in a 5A Region II District 9 test, on Friday, January 31. Lovejoy will attempt to improve on its 23-8 season record. The Lions come into the test with a 5-26 record after their 51-24 league loss to Denison (Denison, TX).

The Cardinals (21-9) will now prepare for their test against McKinney North (McKinney, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 5A Region II District 9 test with a 16-15 record. In their last test, McKinney North beat Walnut Grove (Prosper, TX), 32-30, in a league test.
