In Tuesday's non-league contest, the host Weddington Warriors basketball team scored a close 59-53 triumph over the Nation Ford Falcons .

The Warriors (12-6) will now prepare for their contest against Porter Ridge (Indian Trail, NC). The Pirates go into the 4A Southern Carolina contest with a 15-4 record. In their last contest, Porter Ridge was tipped by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 70-51, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Falcons confront the Indian Land Warriors (Fort Mill, SC) in a AAAAA Region 3 contest, on Friday, January 31. Nation Ford will attempt to better on its 10-11 season record. The Warriors go into the contest with a 5-16 record after their 41-25 league loss to Northwestern (Rock Hill, SC).
