The Taft Wildcats basketball squad (Taft, CA), was nudged 54-52 in Wednesday's league battle with the host Kennedy Thunderbirds (Delano, CA)

With the victory, Kennedy advances its record to 10-10 on the year. The Thunderbirds travel to McFarland (McFarland, CA) to meet the Cougars in a South Sequoia battle on Tuesday, February 4. The Cougars enter the battle with a record of 21-5. McFarland won 81-44 in their recent league battle against Taft (Taft, CA)

The Wildcats now own a 12-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McFarland for a South Sequoia battle on Thursday, January 30. Taft will meet a Cougars squad coming off a 76-49 league win over Shafter (Shafter, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 20-5.
