January 31, 2025: Columbia, SC 29209 The Augusta Christian Lions (Martinez, GA) basketball edged the host Hammond Skyhawks (Columbia, SC), 73-70 in Friday's league bout.
The Lions now possess a 22-2 record. They play next when they host Ben Lippen for a SCISA 4A Region I bout on Tuesday, February 4. Augusta Christian will play a Falcons team coming off a 73-71 league loss to Northside Christian Academy (Lexington, SC). The Falcons record now stands at 17-6.
With the loss, Hammond falls to 13-4 on the campaign. The Skyhawks host Cardinal Newman (Columbia, SC) to play the Cardinals in a SCISA 4A Region I bout on Tuesday, February 4. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 8-12. Cardinal Newman lost 67-33 in their recent league bout against Heathwood Hall Episcopal (Columbia, SC)
