Shelby Whippets (Shelby, OH) fans went home pleased Monday as they observed their basketball team overwhelm the visiting Lexington Minutemen (Lexington, OH), 61-24 in a non-league challenge.

The Whippets (18-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Pleasant (Marion, OH). The Spartans come into the Mid-Ohio challenge with a 15-6 record. In their last challenge, Pleasant trounced Marion Harding (Marion, OH), 49-40, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Minutemen encounter the Wooster Generals (Wooster, OH) in a Ohio Cardinal challenge, on Thursday, February 6. Lexington will attempt to improve on its 8-10 season record. The Generals come into the challenge with a 3-16 record after their 65-43 league loss to West Holmes (Millersburg, OH).
