The Union Academy Cardinals basketball squad (Monroe, NC), was nudged 55-48 in Friday's league battle with the visiting South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls (Norwood, NC)

With the victory, South Stanly advances its record to 15-7 on the year. The Rowdy Rebel Bulls host Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC) to meet the Knights in a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley battle on Tuesday, February 11. The Knights enter the battle with a record of 3-14.

The Cardinals now own a 12-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mount Pleasant for a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley battle on Tuesday, February 11. Union Academy will meet a Tigers squad coming off a 74-51 league win over North Stanly (New London, NC). The Tigers record now stands at 14-8.
