Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting River View Raiders (Bradshaw, WV), 66-64 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Mingo Central upgrades its record to 9-12 on the campaign. The Miners travel to Chapmanville Regional (Chapmanville, WV) to play the Tigers in a Cardinal bout on Saturday, February 18. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 15-3. Chapmanville Regional won 70-48 in their recent league bout against Scott (Madison, WV)

Next up, the Raiders play the Midland Trail Patriots (Hico, WV) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 21. River View will attempt to upgrade on its 8-10 season record. The Patriots come into the bout with a 11-9 record after their 70-53 league loss to Independence (Coal City, WV).
