Virginia High School Baseball - Alleghany defeats Greenbrier East
March 15, 2023: Covington, VA 24426 Alleghany Mountaineers (Covington, VA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Greenbrier East Spartans (Lewisburg, WV), 14-8 in a non-league test.
With the win, Alleghany betters its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Riverheads (Staunton, VA) to play the Gladiators in a non-league battle on Friday, March 17. The Gladiators enter the battle with a record of 1-0. Riverheads won 15-1 in their recent non-league battle against Covington (Covington, VA)
The Spartans now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Princeton for a Coalfield AAA battle on Monday, March 20. Greenbrier East will play a Tigers squad coming off a 12-8 non-league loss to Woodrow Wilson (Beckley, WV). The Tigers record now stands at 0-1.
