In Wednesday's league match, the host Port Isabel Tarpons softball team scored a tight 10-9 victory over the Valley View Tigers.

The Tarpons (2-11) will now prepare for their match against Grulla (Rio Grande City, TX). The Gators go into the 4A Region IV District 32 match with a 4-5 record.

Next up, the Tigers play the Hidalgo Early College Pirates (Hidalgo, TX) in a 4A Region IV District 32 game, on Friday, March 27. Valley View will attempt to improve on its 3-13 season record. The Pirates enter the game with a 1-13 record after their 16-4 league loss to La Feria (La Feria, TX).
