April 6, 2024: Fort Wingate, NM 87316 Hozho Academy Wolves (Gallup, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM), 11-8 in a non-league challenge.
The Wolves now own a 6-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Navajo Pine for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 6. Hozho Academy will battle a Warriors squad coming off a 17-4 non-league loss to Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM). The Warriors record now stands at 3-6.
With the loss, Wingate falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Bears host Zuni (Zuni, NM) to battle the Thunderbirds in a 3A District 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 9. The Thunderbirds enter the challenge with a record of 2-9. Zuni lost 19-6 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Michael's (Santa Fe, NM)
