The crowd at Wednesday's league battle between the Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) and the visiting Gateway Gators (Monroeville, PA), saw Montour's baseball team gain a win over Gateway by a tally of 4-1.

The Spartans (3-6) will now prepare for their battle against Hopewell (Aliquippa, PA). The Vikings enter the non-league battle with a 2-7 record. In their last battle, Hopewell held off North Catholic (Cranberry Township, PA), 8-4, in a league battle.

Next, the Gators face the Armstrong River Hawks (Kittanning, PA) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, April 10. Gateway will attempt to upgrade on its 5-3 season record. The River Hawks enter the battle with a 4-5 record after their 20-1 league win over Penn Hills (Pittsburgh, PA).
