In Friday's league match, the visiting Lafayette Commodores softball team scored a tight 5-2 victory over the Pontotoc Warriors.

The Commodores (21-5) will now prepare for their match against New Hope (Columbus, MS). The Trojans go into the 5A Region 1 match with a 17-6 record. In their last match, New Hope tipped Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS), 4-1, in a league match.

In their next game, the Warriors battle the Nettleton Tigers (Nettleton, MS) in a non-league match, on Friday, April 11. Pontotoc will attempt to better on its 11-10 season record. The Tigers go into the match with a 23-2 record after their 5-0 league win over Mooreville (Mooreville, MS).
