South Carolina High School Softball - Whitmire bounces Newberry
April 13, 2023: Whitmire, SC 29178 Whitmire Wolverines (Whitmire, SC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Newberry Bulldogs (Newberry, SC), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Wolverines now sport a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they host Chester for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 17. Whitmire will face a Cyclones squad coming off a 10-9 league loss to Clinton (Clinton, SC). The Cyclones record now stands at 6-9.
With the loss, Newberry falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Abbeville (Abbeville, SC) to face the Panthers in a AA Region 2 challenge on Tuesday, April 18. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 12-5. Abbeville won 8-4 in their recent league challenge against Ninety Six (Ninety Six, SC)
