North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC), 1-0 in a league challenge.

The Comets now sport a 15-1 record. They take the field next when they host Central Cabarrus for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 22. North Stanly will face a Vikings squad coming off a 6-0 league win over East Rowan (Salisbury, NC). The Vikings record now stands at 14-5.

With the loss, Mount Pleasant falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC) to face the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 23. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 12-3.
