May 7, 2024: Fort Wingate, NM 87316 In Tuesday's league contest, the Wingate Bears (Fort Wingate, NM) softball team the visiting Thoreau Hawks (Thoreau, NM), by a margin of 18-16.
With the triumph, Wingate moves its record to 11-12 on the year. The Bears travel to Navajo Prep (Farmington, NM) to play the Eagles in a 3A District 1 contest on Thursday, May 9. The Eagles come into the contest with a record of 11-13. Navajo Prep won 17-2 in their recent league contest against Zuni (Zuni, NM)
In their next game, the Hawks play the Newcomb Skyhawks (Newcomb, NM) in a 3A District 1 contest, on Thursday, May 9. Thoreau will attempt to move on its 5-14 season record. The Skyhawks come into the contest with a 18-7 record after their 16-6 league win over Tohatchi (Tohatchi, NM).
