The Smithfield-Selma Spartans volleyball squad (Smithfield, NC), dropped 3-0 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Clayton Comets (Clayton, NC)

With the win, Clayton moves its record to 3-3 on the year. The Comets travel to Southeast Raleigh (Raleigh, NC) to battle the Bulldogs in a Greater Neuse River 7A contest on Tuesday, September 2. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a record of 0-6. Southeast Raleigh lost 3-0 in their recent league contest against Fuquay - Varina (Fuquay-Varina, NC)

Next, the Spartans battle the Garner Trojans (Garner, NC) in a Greater Neuse River 7A contest, on Tuesday, September 2. Smithfield-Selma will attempt to move on its 3-6 season record. The Trojans enter the contest with a 6-4 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Felton Grove (Apex, NC).
